About a year ago I was talking to my friend about my skin woes and she recommended that it was time to up my beauty care game and told me about this product by Lancome called Lancome Rénergie Day Cream. It is an anti-wrinkle and firming moisturizer that, to me, cost an arm and a leg. “You want me to pay how much money for a face cream?!” I blurted when she told me the price. “Do you know how many hours I have to work to make $119 bucks??” She laughed and then did something unbelievable. She sent me a jar of it as a gift for my birthday. Since then, I have bought a second jar because I can hardly believe how it has improved my skin and in such a short span of time!
I don’t know what they put in this thing but it is a daggone miracle. The company describes it as having MT technology (don’t know what the heck that means but it works for me) and they claim that it gives you firmer, tighter and more youthful complexion. For me, it really just brightened up my complexion in a way that you just would not believe. Over the years, I just found I had gotten dull, you know? My face was just losing its luster day by day till I barely recognized myself anymore. I was never very wrinkly or loose-skinned per se. Just very lackluster, and okay, I do have some really deep laugh lines. And this cream really did wonders for that – helping to noticeably plump them up.
I did not realize how much my skin needed hydration and moisture. Rénergie just takes away a lot of the dryness I used to feel when I wash my face (often even with just water I had a dry feeling). And it wasn’t just in my mind because when my sister visited me in Paris last year, the first thing she said was that my face looked very dry (ouch!). After just a few months of using it, I can wash my face and not apply anything right after and I don’t have this dryness. At the same time, it is a smooth cream and not too greasy, as I hate greasy creams, so this is an added plus.
What else can I say about this? Oh, it has a mild fragrance so it does not compete with all your other personal care products. It is underwhelming in that sense. And I like the pinkish-milkish undertones. Oh, and as if all that is not enough, the packaging is truly exquisite. 🙂 It makes me feel pampered and indulged.
So, okay. I have been waxing poetic about it. Are there any negatives. Well, obviously the price is prohibitive. I have only bought it one time as the first time was a gift from my friend, and I don’t know that I can sustain this addiction. Okay? Let’s just keep it real. I can’t be shelling out $119.00 on my face too often. Though, one bottle lasted me about 3 months. And the second bottle still has a lot in it, four months later. I don’t use mine every day. I am really careful about letting it last as long as possible, so I supplement with other moisturizers. So maybe that is why mine lasts so long. I don’t think I need it every day to tell you the truth. But some people might need it everyday and may need more of it than I do so it could get pricey and maybe it would not be right for them for that reason alone. And I totally get it.
Also, the product is a little bit thick so for some people, this could be an issue if you like your creams a little bit thinner. I personally think that it is very easy to use in spite of the thickish consistency. I like the thick consistency as a matter of fact. I just cleanse my face, tap a little bit from the jar with my finger, and apply it to face and neck. And boom. Voila.
The one thing I would say is that you can’t put too much of this stuff on because it makes me break out a little bit. Easy does it, a little goes a really long way.
So what is the grand conclusion on this one? Forget Botox, girls. Just use Lancome Rénergie Day Cream! It is a miracle drug for your skin!
