Pura Vida – Save the Dolphins Bracelet (filed in jewelry, jewellery, bracelets)
By Jeannie Lacroix
Pura Vida means “pure life” in Spanish and the brand has an interesting story. Two guys from Southern California go on a surfing holiday in Costa Rica stumble upon artisans who make these bracelets. The artisans are very poor and have no money but they do have these amazing bracelets. The two surfers took 400 bracelets back home and sold them in less than no time and so a business idea was born. They commissioned more Costa Rican artisans to make more bracelets and their whole modus operandi is about saving the planet, helping the poor artisans, and creating beautiful crafts.
